APPA Player ID FAQ
So what's the deal with these numbers?
Basically, an ID number is composed of two parts, a public and a private part:
Public | Private | |
3411 | - | 1234 |
For reference, we will refer to the parts of the number as follows:
Public ID Number: 3411
Private ID Tag: 1234
Full Player ID Number: 3411-1234
Ok, so what does each number mean and how do I use it?
Public ID Number
This is the number that is displayed on your Player ID. It is considered public information and people can use it to see your player history and for roster verification purposes at events.
Private ID Tag
This number is somewhat like an ATM or credit card PIN number. The only people who should know this number are you and the captain of the team you are on.
You can change your ID Tag by logging into your profile here.
If you switch teams, it might be a good idea to change your ID Tag number so that your old team captain can't add you to a roster you don't want to be on.
Full Player ID Number
This is your complete, full player ID number. This is the number that you give to a team captain so that they can add you to their roster.
The reason that this number has both a public and a private part is so that only people you give your Full Player ID Number to can add you to their roster.
